Valaciclovir is a guanine analogue antiviral, at an STD clinic for the treatment of herpes simplex and herpes zoster infection.It is the first drug acyclovir, which can be converted in vivo to aciclovir.
Valaciclovir Hydrochloride, as a prodrug of acyclovir, can be taken orally and transferred into acyclovir in the body quickly. Its antivirus activity is due to the acyclovir. The drug is phosphorylated into activated acyclovir triphosphate, deoxynucleoside competition virus thymidine kinase or cell kinase, deoxyguanosine triphosphate competition virus DNA polymerase, thus inhibiting virus DNA synthesis to show antivirus activity.
