Dimetridazole is a medicine that combats protozoan infections. Dimetridazole is a nitroimidazole class drug. Dimetridazole has been banned by the Canadian government as a livestock feed additive. Used in antiprotozoal drugs for dysentery and porcine Treponema poultry Histomoniasis.
Precautions:
(1) It cannot be used in combination with other antihistonia drugs.
(2) The continuous medication for chickens shall not exceed 10 days.
(3) Banned during laying hens.
Withdrawal Period: Pig and chicken 28 days.
Note: Don't use with bromsalan flukicides such as dibromsalan and tribromsalan.
