Description

Climbazole is a multifunctional cosmetic preservative ingredient with antibacterial and anti-dandruff effects. It is a white crystalline powder. It has strong inhibitory effect on fungi that cause dandruff, and is soluble in surfactants. Climbazole is a racemate composed of equimolar amounts of (R)- and (S)-Gambocin, is a topically applied antifungal agent used to treat fungal skin infections in humans. It can be included in over-the-counter anti-dandruff shampoo formulations and skin treatment compositions to treat dandruff and eczema where the cause is fungal infection.
