What is Pirenzepine Hydrochloride?

As a selective anticholinergic drug, pirenzepine hydrochloride has a high affinity for muscarinic receptors in gastric parietal cells, but a low affinity for muscarinic receptors in myocardium and salivary glands. Therefore, when applied in general therapeutic doses, it can only inhibit gastric acid secretion.Other anticholinergic drugs have few side effects on the pupil, heart, salivary glands.Higher doses inhibited salivary secretion, and only large doses inhibited gastrointestinal smooth production and tachycardia induced by Chemicalbook. .

Function of Pirenzepine Hydrochloride
