Mequinol is a chemical substance that looks like a white flake or waxy crystal. The molecular formula is C7H8O2. It is used as a polymerization inhibitor for vinyl type plastic monomers, UV inhibitors, dye intermediates, and antioxidant BHA (3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole) for synthesizing edible oils and fats and cosmetics. It is an important intermediate for fine chemical products such as medicines, spices and pesticides. The biggest advantage is that it does not require the removal of p-hydroxyanisole when used, it can directly participate in the polymerization. It is also used as a synthetic agent, a plasticizer, and a food additive (BHA).
