What is Streptomycin sulfate:

Streptomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic.Streptomycin mainly binds to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosome and inhibits the synthesis of bacterial protein.Bacteria are susceptible to resistance after contact with streptomycin.Combined administration of streptomycin with other antimicrobial or anti-tuberculous agents can reduce or delay the development of resistance.It is used for the treatment of rabbit fever, plague, severe brucellosis and melix (often in combination with tetracycline or chloramphenicol).Also used in the second-line treatment of tuberculosis, and other anti-tuberculosis drugs.
 

Function of Streptomycin sulfate

An antibiotic produced by the soil actinomycete Streptomyces griseus. Streptomyces acts by inhibiting the initiation and elongation processes during protein synthesis.
