Usage Trilostan can inhibit the 3β-dehydrogenase in the process of corticosteroid synthesis, and reduce the synthesis of cortisol and aldosterone. It is clinically used to treat Cushing syndrome (hypercortisolism) and primary aldosteronism, but the treatment library Hin syndrome (hypercortisolism) is not as effective as metyrapone.
