What is Omeprazole Magnesium
Omeprazole is one of the most widely prescribed drugs internationally and is available over-the-counter in some countries. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, a list of the most important medications needed in a basic health system. Zollinger Ellison syndrome:Zollinger Ellison syndrome is a rare disorder that occurs when a tumor of the pancreas or duodenum releases a hormone that stimulates overproduction of stomach acid. This condition may form multiple peptic ulcers.
Function for the omeprazole
1. peptic ulcer haemorrhage, anastomotic bleeding ulcer.
2. the State of stress with acute gastric mucosal damage, and non-steroidalanti-inflammatory drug-induced acute gastric mucosal injury;
3. it is also often used to prevent severe disease (such as cerebralhemorrhage, traumas, etc) prevention of rebleeding after gastrectomy;
4. General anesthesia or coma patients after major surgery and weakness toprevent reflux with inhalation lung.
5.Omeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid. It is not for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms.
6.Omeprazole is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid).
7.Omeprazole may also be given together with antibiotics to treat gastric ulcer caused by infection with helicobacter pylori (H. pylori).
