Yucca Schidigera is a genus of perennial shrubs and trees in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae.Its 40-50 species are notable for their rosettes of evergreen, tough, sword-shaped leaves and large terminal panicles of white or whitish flowers. They are native to the hot and dry (arid) parts of North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

In animal husbandry, yucca saponin can reduce  concentration in barn air, effectively slow down release and  gas production, improve the fermentation of anaerobic microorganisms, improve the barn environment, and thus increase the laying rate of laying hens.

Six hundred piglets and growing pigs with 65mg/kg yucca saponins added in the diet for 60 days (days old from 48 days) took 24d; the results showed that the volatiliation in the pighouse decreased by 26%; The results showed that 120mg/kg yucca saponin could significantly reduce  concentration (42.5% and 28.5%), improve feed conversion, reduce morbidity and reduce treatment cost in different pastures of the Netherlands and France. Boumeg's experiments showed that the concentration in the barn decreased by 25% after 3 weeks of yucca saponin treatment and by 85% after 6 weeks.
