Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is a salt of glycyrrhizic acid that exhibits several properties that make it useful for cosmetic purposes. Glycyrrhizic acid is also known as glycyrrhizinic acid or glycyrrhizin. It is extracted from licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra). However, due to glycyrrhizic acid being poorly soluble in water, its potassium salt is frequently utilized instead in skin care products. Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is a substance well known to the medical community because it has been investigated as potential treatment for several disorders.

Function:

Whitening principle of dipotassium glycyrrhizinate:
1. Inhibiting the generation of reactive oxygen species: Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is a flavonoid with strong antioxidant activity. Some researchers used superoxide dismutase SOD as the control group, the results showed that dipotassium glycyrrhizinate can effectively inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species.
2. Inhibition of tyrosinase: Compared with the commonly used whitening raw materials, the inhibition of tyrosinase of dipotassium glycyrrhizinate has a very low IC50. Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is recognized as a strong tyrosinase inhibitor, which is better than some commonly used raw materials.
3.
