What is Tacrolimus ?
Tacrolimus is an immunosuppressant. It works by decreasing your body's immune system. Tacrolimus topical (for the skin) is used to treat severe atopic dermatitis (eczema). Tacrolimus may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
How does tacrolimus affect the kidneys?
Tacrolimus is a medicine that lowers the body's natural immunity. 2. Tacrolimus is also used in a topical preparation in the treatment of severe atopic dermatitis, severe refractory uveitis after bone marrow transplants, and the skin condition vitiligo.
3. Tacrolimus can be combined with steroids, azathioprine (Imuran Azasan) or mycophenolate mofetil (CellCept).
